Review about the retreat Center:
This place was beautiful! The staff were super friendly and helpful and always gave a personal touch. The food was delicious and the spa was a dream! The beaches were pristine and the water was so warm. The village beside us was full of laughter and love every day.
Twelve days at Shambala was indeed magical. A breathwork teacher training so we stayed there most all the time. To work and sleep in these great apartments with the ocean pounding in a totally magical way, ahhh. I love the peacefulness and magic instilled in the place, and the possibility to do my own watsu - peaceful resting in the ocean as the morning swell was low and the salt content high enough to just float still, eyes shut. Meditation.
Happy to say I've been back, enjoying the hospitality, food and magic once again.

Located just 8 degrees south of the equator, Bali has a tropical climate all year round. The average temperature hovers around 30 degrees Celsius year-round. We have a dry and a wet season - depending on the area of the Island.
In Bondalem we have two seasons:
The DRY SEASON: from Mai to December, when we have temperatures ranging from 28-29 Celsius by day, and a pleasant 23 Celsius at night. We pretty much have no rain during that time.
The RAINY SEASON from January to mid-March, when we have temperatures ranging from 30-31 Celsius by day, and 24-25 Celsius at night. Rains usually only last for half a day, unless we have island wide storms.
During the rainy season (Jan - March) rain is likely to pass quickly, the sun will emerge often, and the rain is pleasantly warm. Occasionally we have a storm pass through, which may stay a day or two, which is usually island wide. But even during this time, you are likely to feel the deep relaxation of being on vacation.
In UBUD, where the many rice paddies are located, it rains at any time of the year.
In general May to December are the best months in northern Bali. At that time of year we usually have hardly any rains at all in the Bondalem area.
Around the coast, in the north it is less hot than in the South. A sea breezes tempers the heat and as you move inland you also move up so the altitude works to keep things cool. It can get very cool up in the highlands and a warm sweater can be a good idea when you drive through the mountain villages like Kintamani or Bedugul on the way over to Shambala in Bondalem.

Finding freedom through touch.
I first developed an interest in healing and helping others as a child growing up in West Africa, where my parents do nonprofit and mission work. I have since developed a deep interest in exploring cultures around the world and their ways of healing and artful expressions. I also love dancing and integrating any and everything into my life that feels like dancing.
I have spent thousands of hours training in, practicing, and teaching the healing arts, and I strive to incorporate all I've learned (and what I continue to learn!) in every session and class.
Here are some of my certifications and licenses:
- Florida Massage Therapist (MA75549)
- Certified Advanced Thai Yoga Practitioner and Instructor
- Natural Therapeutics Specialist
- NM Certified Colon Hydroptherapist
- 200HR E-RYT Hatha Yoga Teacher
- Yoga Alliance Certified Approved Continuing Education Provider
- NCBTMB Board Certified Approved Continuing Education Provider
My education in practicing healing arts began in 2007, when I received my certification as an iyengar-influenced Hatha yoga instructor from Yandara Yoga Institute in Todos Santos, Baja, Mexico. I then graduated from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics and practiced massage and bodywork until I became certified as a Thai Yoga Therapist in 2011.
In January 2012, I was graciously given the Master's blessing and lineage holder from Dr. Anthony B. James, in the 37th generation of Masters from the Buddhai Sawan Martial & Healing Arts School in Nongkam, Thailand.
I traveled to Bali and Thailand in 2016 and studied with master teachers learning and adding to the repertoire of understanding I have.
My mission, this organization's mission is to bring the world to you! I strive to bring the integration of living and traveling both internally and externally to your experience of personal growth and healing. I love to teach and want to share the education of touch and movement in a way that You can understand how to give the gift of compassionate touch to yourself and others.
Join me on this beautiful journey! I can't wait to meet you and co-create together.
Lydia has an wonderful approach to both teaching yoga and performing Thai Massage. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning to push my body to understand new movements and appreciate its uniqueness and advancements in flexibility through Lydia's tutelage. The Thai Massage is one of the most amazing experiences that i have had, you feel like floating afterwards and the combination of yoga followed by a massage is phenomenal. I Highly recommend Lydia and her amazing holistic approach.
What are you waiting for? She's the best!
Thai Yoga massage is a compassionate gift to humankind and Lydia is one of the best, if not *the* best Thai Yoga massage therapists in the Bay area. She has great respect for the traditional lineage and is highly skilled in the authentic Thai system. She also has a wealth of knowledge in other holistic systems, including nutrition and Yoga (she is a certified teacher and gives groups and private instruction). Her touch is intuitive yet deliberate. She doesn't just barge into an area of your body, but she doesn't hesitate out of timidity either. She makes contact to let you know she's there, and then steadily increases pressure with a sensitive confidence. Her work with me has been deep, but never painful. The Thai system is excellent for achieving structural re-alignment, increased energy flow, relief from chronic pain, better flexibility and well being. Also, it should be noted that Lydia is very affordable for the level of work she does. Highly recommenced.
The training was great! Lydia is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of what she is sharing. Her passion for Thai Yoga Therapy is very evident. She was patient and very thorough in making sure we understood what we were doing and why we were doing it. Just partaking in the training was very therapeutic for me. I would highly recommend the training to anyone who is thinking about it or interested in what Thai Yoga Therapy is and has to offer. I can't wait to continue practicing what I learned to share with others.
