Esalen® Massage & Bodywork, Touching Essence, Aquatic Bodywork, Sensory Awareness Meditation, Gestalt Practice, Personal Inquiry Exercises, Holotropic Breathwork Meditation, The 5Rhythms, SpiritDance/SoulSong, Continuum Movement, and Releasing Trauma.
All the practices will help you to cultivate presence and awareness as well as touch and being touched in body, mind, heart and spirit.

The Old Rectory is a large and spacious 19th Century country house situated in the unspoiled North Devon countryside, nestled between Exmoor and Dartmoor. Set in 5 acres of landscaped gardens and 14 acres of river meadows, it is available to rent and offers luxury self catering in 12 stylish bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. The house and courtyard accommodation sleeps up to 24 adults comfortably with additional accommodation for children or staff. The Old Rectory is a special place for house parties, celebrations, family get togethers, retreats or simply a relaxing holiday.
We have 12 stylish bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, two reception rooms, an elegant dining area seating 22, adjacent to a fully equipped kitchen, with a large table that seats an additional 10. The courtyard includes a private self contained duplex (sleeps 4), The Old Rectory is spacious enough to accommodate a large number of guests, but still feels intimate and homely and luxurious.
Facilities include: Dance barn | Yoga Studio | infra-red sauna | Tennis court, surrounded by rhododendron bushes, beeches and elms,with a viewing terrace for supporters.|Solar panel heated out door salt water swimming pool with ‘Swim jet’.

The retreat begins at 4pm on Friday and we conclude on Monday at 11:00am after a wholesome breakfast.

Head of massage at Esalen® Institute for 20 years. A 35 year member of the Esalen® community, staff, and faculty, continues to practice bodywork and movement arts, facilitate classes, retreats and trainings at Esalen® and throughout the world.
Leonie has worked in the healing arts for over 20 years, experiencing both personal and professional challenges that have led her down a path of deep intuitive analysis for both her and her clients.Training in Esalen Massage in 2002, Leonie has a deep appreciation for the power of touch as a non-verbal communication tool.
Carrie is our in-house cook. She cooks with her heart and soul. We are incredibly fortunate to have Carrie in residence on our retreats. You can literally taste the love in her food!
Her work in the culinary arts has taken her on some great adventures from setting up an outdoor organic catering company, overseeing catering for Wild Women groups, Chi Gong camps and movement medicine dance groups to catering in Buckfast Abbey for Zhixing Wang – master healer, where they loved the ‘Chi’ in her food.
She has worked in the famous organic Riverford field kitchen gaining inspiration from Jane Baxter’s passion and expertise, and most recently in the organic kitchen at the Karuna Institute.
